Advent Carol Service: O Radiant Dawn

Choir_e-1097All Saints Fulham Choir will be singing an incredible amount of music for a special Advent Carol Service at 6pm on Sunday 1 December at All Saints Church Fulham.

The introit for the service is O Radiant Dawn by Scottish composer James Macmillan (1959- ). This advent antiphon is part of the Strathclyde Motets written in 2007 for the Chamber Choir of Strathclyde University – Macmillan has an honorary degree from the University.

O Radiant Dawn, Splendour of eternal Light,
Sun of Justice:
come, shine on those who dwell in darkness
and the shadow of death.
Isaiah had prophesied,
‘The people who walked in darkness have seen the great light;
upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone.’

The video is The City of Bath Bach Choir directed by Nigel Perrin.
