The Lord is my Shepherd

The women of All Saints Fulham Choir take centre stage on Sunday 21 April and sing both services without the men who have the week off.

At Sung Eucharist, the anthem will be Gott ist mein Hirt by Austrian composer Franz Schubert.

Gott ist mein Hirt translates into English as God is my Shepherd and so the piece is a version of Psalm 23. Schubert wrote the piece in 1820 for a friend but it was not published until after his death.

Schubert (1797-1828) wrote a vast amount of music in his lifetime, including over 600 songs, 6 masses, 21 sonatas and 9 symphonies. His work is part of the Romantic era of music.
