Easter Sunday: Schubert Mass

As we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday, All Saints Fulham Choir will sing a full mass at Eucharist – Schubert’s Mass in G.

In his career, Austrian composer Franz Schubert (1797-1828) composed 6 Masses in Latin and 1 in German.

The Mass in G was the second mass he wrote. It was written in 1815 when he was just 18 years old. However it wasn’t published until 1846 nearly 20 years after Schubert’s death.

The video is the Atlanta Symphony Chorus and Orchestra performing the Gloria from Schubert’s Mass in G.
