Maundy Thursday: Christus Factus Est

All Saints Church Fulham will celebrate Maundy Thursday at 8pm on Thursday 28 March. Maundy Thursday is the day of the Last Supper, when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples.

The anthem for the service is Christus Factus Est by the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner (1824-1896).

Bruckner took the text for the piece from the New Testament – Philippians 2:8-9

Christus factus est pro nobis obediens usque ad mortem, mortem autem crucis. Propter quod et Deus exaltavit illum et dedit illi nomen, quod est super omne nomen.

English: King James Bible Version
Christ became obedient for our sakes unto death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name.

About All Saints Fulham Choir

The All Saints Fulham Church is the home of three choirs. A traditional Parish Choir who sing wide-ranging repertoire which spans nine centuries and tours regularly at home and abroad; a Gospel Choir who sing a mixture of contemporary and traditional gospel styles, and a junior choir for children from Year 3 upwards.
