Mothering Sunday

After singing in Oxford this weekend, All Saints Fulham Choir are back singing in Fulham for Mothering Sunday on Sunday 10 March.

The Choir will sing Hymn to the Virgin by English composer Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) at Sung Eucharist. 2013 is the 100th anniversary of Britten’s birth.

This particular piece was written when Britten was just 16 years old. It was first performed at a concert given by the Lowestoft Musical Society in St John’s Church on January 5, 1931.

The video is the choir Polyphony singing Hymn to the Virgin by Benjamin Britten.


About All Saints Fulham Choir

The All Saints Fulham Church is the home of three choirs. A traditional Parish Choir who sing wide-ranging repertoire which spans nine centuries and tours regularly at home and abroad; a Gospel Choir who sing a mixture of contemporary and traditional gospel styles, and a junior choir for children from Year 3 upwards.
