The evening will be filled with the music of Charles Villers Stanford (1852-1924). The canticles will be his Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in B flat and the anthem will be Beati Quorum Via.

Beati Quorum Via
Beati quorum via integra est:
Qui ambulant in lege Domini.
Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
who walk in the law of the Lord.
Born in Dublin, Stanford lived in London most of his adult life but travelled to Germany after university to study music under two of the leading teachers of his day: Carl Reinecke in Leipzig and Friedrich Kiel in Berlin.
